- Purpose: Explain what data the app collects, how it’s used, where it’s stored, and your rights, in clear and simple terms.

Scope


- Applies to your use of GPXNAV on your device, including features like recording tracks, adding markers, creating routes, and downloading map tiles.

- Also applies to optional online features (login/registration) if you choose to use them.

Data We Collect


- Location

  - Precise GPS location (latitude/longitude), speed, and bearing while using location features.

  - Used only while the app is active; no background tracking without active use.

- Routes, Tracks, and Markers

  - Route points, recorded tracks, and markers you add (names and coordinates).

  - Stored locally on your device.

- Device and Usage

  - Limited technical data and app events to improve performance and handle errors.

- Account Data (optional)

  - Basic account information (e.g., email/username) if you register and use online features.

  - Not collected if you don’t use account features.

- Map Tiles and Network Requests

  - When maps load, requests are sent to chosen tile providers (includes your IP, tile path, zoom level) to deliver map tiles.

How We Use Data


- Location

  - Real-time navigation, auto-follow, speed/ETA calculations, and marking locations.

- Routes/Tracks/Markers

  - Display, save, and export (e.g., GPX) your data.

- Network and Map Tiles

  - Retrieve map tiles from the provider you select in the app.

- Account (optional)

  - Authenticate you and enable online features if you use them.

Storage & Retention


- On-Device

  - Markers, tracks, routes, and settings are saved on your device until you delete them.

- Tile Cache

  - Map tiles are cached locally to speed up viewing and support limited offline use.

- Server-Side (account users only)

  - Basic account data may be stored on the server; location, tracks, and markers are not uploaded by default.

Sharing of Data


- No sale or sharing of your personal data for marketing.

- Third-Party Map Providers

  - When requesting tiles, providers receive technical info (e.g., IP, tile path, zoom). Their own privacy policies apply.

- Export

  - If you export GPX or share data, you control where it goes and who sees it.


- In Transit

  - Uses secure connections where available; some tile sources may use HTTP/HTTPS depending on the provider you choose.

- On Device

  - Your data (markers, tracks, routes) stays on your device; you control deletion and export.

- Data Minimization

  - We collect only what’s necessary to deliver core features.

Your Rights


- Access

  - View and export your tracks/routes/markers.

- Correction

  - Edit markers or routes.

- Deletion

  - Delete markers, tracks, and routes within the app; clear tile cache if desired.

- Choice

  - Toggle features (e.g., auto-rotation, route creation) and choose map providers.

App Permissions


- ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION for location.

- INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE for map tiles and network features.

- READ/WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (version-dependent) for importing/exporting files and some caching.

Data Export


- GPX Export

  - You can export your routes/tracks as GPX files and share them as you choose.

Children


- Not directed to children under 13; we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to This Policy


- We may update this policy to reflect new features or providers.

- The effective date will be updated for each change.
